Rear 8MP Camera
The barcode scanner Android MC005P, featuring a rear 8MP camera, streamlines inventory management, equipment inspection, and real-time logging of goods conditions.
I’m using this mainly to keep track of all the post cards we ship out and it’s been great so far. I can bundle a few together, slap a QR on them and just scan to see what’s what instead of digging through notes. The pistol grip feels good in the hand and the trigger is easy to hit without thinking about it. Battery lasts a long time.. I can get through a full day of packing without hunting for a charger. Reads codes fast, even when I’m not perfectly lined up. Overall it just works like it should and keeps things a lot more organized.
I use this Android barcode scanner at my shop for tracking inventory, parts, and sales. It reads barcodes instantly and connects smoothly over WiFi or Bluetooth. The Honeywell HS7 engine locks on fast even when the code is slightly worn or moving. The pistol grip is comfortable for long use and the keypad is handy for entering quantities or notes without using the touch screen. Battery life easily lasts a full workday and charges up fairly quick. The Android interface runs smooth with no lag switching between apps. The rugged housing and IP65 protection handle shop dust and the occasional drop without issue. With it running Android 14, I should get a good many years out of this before it ever feels outdated. For a handheld this capable it offers great performance and value for the money.
This is an excellent Android-powered scanner. It's extremely easy to set up and use, and it's very versatile. The scanner is robust and powerful, and has a long battery life. The kit itself is very rugged. It's expensive, but it's an investment that should pay years of dividends.
The scanning head has a very fast recognition speed. Whether it is a one-dimensional or two-dimensional code, even a slightly worn barcode can be easily recognized, and it can be scanned in almost seconds. The design of the handheld PDA is very reasonable, and it feels comfortable to hold. The 4-inch touch screen is responsive and bright enough that it can still be clearly seen in dimly lit areas of the warehouse. The 4GB+64GB configuration is more than enough for inventory management software and data storage, and it runs smoothly without any lags. The IP65 dust and water resistance rating plus the sturdy shell mean that it can withstand a few drops without any problem. It feels very durable. The 5000mAh battery life is also very good, and it does not need to be charged even after a whole day of high-frequency use. The WiFi and Bluetooth connections are stable, and data synchronization is fast.
I have been using this Android barcode scanner daily for inventory tracking in a warehouse environment. The device runs on Android 14, which I appreciate because it feels more stable than earlier versions I’ve used on other handhelds. I noticed the firmware is built on Upside Down Cake with security patches from July 5, 2024, so I feel confident about basic system safety during regular use. The Google Play system was updateable to September 1, 2025. It took me a few minutes to set up the battery since I wasn’t familiar with the latch mechanism on the back, but once I slid the cover open and inserted the 5000mAh Li-ion pack, it locked securely into place.I installed a nano SIM card before powering it on, following the manual’s advice to do so with the device off. After holding the power button for three seconds, the screen lit up and went through the boot sequence without any delays. The 4-inch display has a resolution of 800x480, which isn’t high by smartphone standards, but I find it functional for scanning tasks. I can see the data clearly even under bright warehouse lights, and the 400 nit brightness helps maintain visibility. I tested the touch screen while wearing gloves, and it responded accurately, which matters in colder storage areas where removing gloves isn’t practical. The physical keypad is something I specifically wanted, and I’m glad this model includes one. When I enter quantities or navigate forms, the input field doesn’t shift upward like it does on full-touch devices when the virtual keyboard appears. That consistency saves time and reduces errors. I also connected the optional pistol grip, which turns the unit into a laser gun-style scanner. It fits well and balances nicely, making long shifts less tiring on my hand. The two scan keys on the side are easy to reach, and pressing either triggers the Honeywell HS7 imaging engine. The keypad provides clear tactile feedback, so I can press 0 through 9 without looking down, which keeps my workflow steady during inventory counts. I’ve used other scanners where I had to remove my gloves to tap small on-screen keys, but here, each key has enough travel and separation that mistyping is rare, even when I’m moving quickly. The dedicated function keys like Enter, Delete, and Escape save me from navigating menus repeatedly, especially when correcting input errors or confirming transfers. Since I often need to type partial codes when labels are torn or smudged, the combination of numeric input and shortcut keys reduces dependency on scanning alone. This also means I’m not constantly touching the screen, which helps keep it cleaner and less prone to scratches over time. In environments where dust and moisture are common, knowing the buttons are sealed and built to last makes a difference in daily reliability.Scanning performance has been reliable across different code types. I’ve scanned Code 128, QR codes, Data Matrix, and EAN-13 labels on boxes, some of which were smudged or partially torn. The scanner read most of them on the first try. I tested motion tolerance by scanning items moving slowly along a conveyor belt, and it captured barcodes at speeds up to 6 m/s without issue. There was one instance where scanning failed despite the red laser turning on, but I checked the settings and found that the output mode was set to Broadcast instead of HID. Once I switched it to Focus, the data started appearing directly in the input field of our inventory app.I rely heavily on Wi-Fi connectivity, and the dual-band support (2.4GHz and 5GHz) works well in our facility. My report shows a strong 5GHz connection at 390 Mbps, which allows real-time sync with our cloud-based management system. Bluetooth 5.0 pairs quickly with printers and headsets I use occasionally. I haven’t needed NFC much, but I tested it with an access badge, and communication within 6 cm worked as expected. The rear 8MP camera comes in handy when I need to document damaged packaging or capture serial numbers that aren’t barcoded.Storage and memory usage look healthy. With 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, the system runs smoothly even with multiple apps open. My current usage shows 2.62 GB of RAM in use and about 19 GB of storage occupied after installing several business tools like Zoho Inventory and Orcascan. I added a 128GB microSD card without issues, and the device recognized it immediately. The MT8786 octa-core processor keeps everything responsive, though I did notice all eight cores were active during a large sync operation.Battery life meets expectations. On a full charge, it lasts over eight hours of continuous scanning, which covers a full shift. I usually start the day at 100% and end around 40–50%, depending on usage intensity. Charging takes about three hours with the included adapter, and the indicator light turns green when complete. I unplugged it once it reached full charge, following the manual’s recommendation to avoid overcharging. The IP65 rating gives me confidence whe...
